Meet the Doctor

Susan Pursell, M.D.

Originally from New Haven, Connecticut, Dr. Susan Pursell has been practicing urology on the North Shore for 22 years. She went to college at Boston University, where she earned her BA in Biology. She went on to earn her medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine.  She completed her residency in urology at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1996.

She is Board certified in Urology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Urological Association, the International Continence Society, the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine, and Urogenital Reconstruction, as well as the Society of Women in Urology.

She lives in Newburyport with her husband and three kids. Her interests include scuba diving, writing, skiing, and travelling.
